Your Questions, Answered

  • When you get in touch, we start with a short conversation to understand your situation, goals, and whether tutoring is likely to be helpful.

Rather than asking you to browse profiles or compare tutors, we take responsibility for the matching process. If we believe tutoring is appropriate, we’ll suggest a tutor we feel would be a strong fit, and take things from there at a pace that feels comfortable.

Our focus is on thoughtful, long-term matches — not rushing the process.

  • All tutors we work with are carefully selected based on their subject knowledge, teaching experience, and approach to working with students.

We’re not interested in building the largest possible tutor list. Instead, we work with tutors who care deeply about their teaching, value long-term relationships with students, and align with our approach to tutoring.

  • At present, we primarily offer online tutoring.

Online lessons allow us to work with excellent tutors and students regardless of location, while still delivering high-quality, focused support. We’re always happy to talk through whether online tutoring would be suitable for your situation.

  • No — there’s no minimum commitment.

Tutoring should feel helpful and supportive, not restrictive. After an initial conversation or lesson, you’re free to decide whether ongoing tutoring feels right for you.

  • That’s absolutely fine.

Not every situation requires tutoring, and not every tutor–student pairing is right. If something doesn’t feel like a good fit, we’ll talk it through and decide together on the best next step — whether that’s trying a different approach or stepping away entirely.

  • Tutoring fees can vary depending on the level of study, the tutor, and the type of support needed.

Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all rate, we discuss pricing once we understand your situation and can suggest a suitable tutor. All fees are explained clearly upfront, with no hidden costs.

  • Payment is arranged directly and transparently once tutoring begins.

We’ll explain how everything works before any lessons take place, and you’re never locked into ongoing sessions. Our aim is to keep things straightforward and flexible.

For Tutors

  • You can apply by getting in touch through our tutor enquiry form.

We take time to review each application individually, as we’re focused on building a small, high-quality group of tutors rather than onboarding at scale.

  • At the moment, we focus exclusively on mathematics, including GCSE, A-Level, and Further Maths.

This allows us to maintain high standards and ensure that tutors joining us are genuinely strong in their subject and approach to teaching. As our expertise and support systems grow, we may expand into other subjects over time — but only where we can offer the same level of care and quality.

  • Commission reduces as you teach more hours through the platform.

This is designed to reward consistency and long-term commitment.
Full details are outlined on the For Tutors page.

  • Students are matched based on their needs, goals, availability, and learning style — not on speed, bidding, or ranking systems.

We aim to make introductions where there’s a strong chance of a positive long-term working relationship.

  • We provide guidance, shared resources, and support where helpful, while still giving tutors the freedom to teach in a way that suits them and their students.

Our aim is to support good teaching — not to impose rigid structures.

  • Tutors working with us have access to ongoing support and open communication.

We see this as a collaborative relationship, and we’re always available to talk through questions, challenges, or ideas as they arise.
